Hate Your Cell Phone Company?
I have a love-hate relationship with my cell phone carrier. I love some of the features. I have good coverage at a reasonable price. I’ve been with them for over a decade and now have five phones with them.
But I absolutely detest the local stores and the people that work there.
I’ve had more trouble with really bad sales people at Alltel stores than with any other service people I use. Simply put, they are horrendous. I’ve posted about them and have even written complaint letters to the company. Nothing changes, though. Still really bad customer service.
Now, there’s a place to go to rant about the things you hate about your cell phone provider. If your service provider doesn’t meet your expectations, head over to CellRants.com and tell your side of the story. Just click over to the forum and talk to others about cell phone companies. Get the scoop on who’s good and who’s all hype.
Be sure to check out the new Wiki entry on T-Mobile Sidekick, too. Lots more to come! This is bound to be a great site, and quite helpful to all consumers.
I’m just hoping the site offers some real (aka useful) reviews of cell phones. I really don’t care about mp3 players and cameras on the phone. I just want to know which phones get the best reception and are built to last. That’s all. I know, I’m strange. Seriously, though, all I really want to do with my cell phone is talk on it. ![]()

I love the name cellrants, it seems like everyone has problems with their service provider, it will be nice to have somewhere to go to complain about them
I think it’s a great resource! I’m still looking for the perfect phone.
You should check out the forums Sarakastic we still have two goodie bags to give away to anyone that post a complaint of at least 200 words.
hi! i am participating in doshdosh’ technorati favorites experiment. i just fav’d you. hope you fave me too. i’m at www.anitokid.blogspot.com
After reading those boards, I now know where NOT to go for cell service.
Just letting you know that I’ve favorited your blog on Technorati as a part of the Technorati Favorites Exchange.
Here’s my link.

I agree about all the extra crap on phones. I don’t need an .mp3 player on my phone, or a camera. I have ones that are actually good already. I still don’t have the need for e-mail, or the internet on a phone either. Even if I did I’d get a wireless laptop. Just give me a phone that has caller id, voicemail, and works.
Hating the phone company is the right thing to do!
Faved you, AnitoKid. Thanks for visiting!
Hey! Sorry I’m late responding. Just finally getting caught up (probably while you’re visiting with Deb, huh?)
Faved you Angelika. Thanks for stopping by!
When you find a cell phone like that, let me know. I”m still looking.
Thanks for the link on your blog, Wilbur! I guess I’m not the only one who hates the phone company, huh?
Hey Marissa, Alltel has a cool new phone called the Wafer you may like. There is a post about it on my site.
Your welcome! Yes, phone company haters unite. Hating the phone company is the right thing to do. Any phone company and all phone companies!
How about a cell phone that shows you how much your last (or current) call ACTUALLY cost… and how much your bill to date is.. and from a company that doesn’t think they can keep you as a customer just because they “locked” your phone to their service.
The phone is the only utilitily that doesn’t provide your usage upfront if you want to see it. Like electric, gas and water meters.
T-Mobile has a service such as this..Check it out; their a GREAT Company with excellent service.
My opinion…..Thanks!
I’ll remember that, Rick. I’m not sure how good their service is in my area, though.
Thanks Michael! Heading over there now.
The whole “locking” thing infuriates me. A cell phone ought to be cross platform compatible. Once you buy it, you ought to be able to use it with any service.
The entire industry abuses its customers. This is the very thing that prompts the government to jump in and regulate.
BTW, I tried to register at your blog to comment but I got an error when I logged in or when I try to comment.
Do you mean my blog or wiburs?
I couldn’t remember at first but it was Wilbur’s blog. I don’t know why but I can’t register to comment there.
Just commented at yours. No problem.
Let me check into it. You can do a “quick comment” which strips any html without registering. If you register it sends you your password and then you can login. Then you must create a profile (which can have 2 links). THEN you can comment with html (ie: links without no follow).
It’s a bit complicated but keeps the spammers out (and I guess everyone else)!
I called Verizon to disconnect 3 landlines on Tuesday. They disconnected one and told me they didn’t know how to disconnect the other 2 and would call me back.
I called the Verizon Executive Office today and all the guy could say was “I understand”. Geez. Don’t understand just terminate the lines NOW!
If anyone is interested, I can get you great deals if anyone wants to change their phone service through my company.
Thanks for the offer, Shawn. If you’d like to advertise here on my blog, contact me and we’ll work out a price.
That’s great. I need to go over their an complain about sprints customer service. I have no problem with the network but man when something goes wrong it’s always a huge ordeal to get things done.
