Twenga Shopping!
I’ve been online for over a decade. Yes, it’s been that long. It was before Netscape went public, in fact. Imagine that. So I guess it’s no surprise that I’ve been shopping online for about that long, too. It really didn’t take long for me to enter my credit card number to order some great software. Remember, 10 years ago I had dial-up so it was unlikely that I’d be downloading over a 28.8 modem!
I still remember the first non-digital item I ordered online. It was a really cool contractor’s calculator for my husband. He loved it; I loved shopping online while sitting at home in my pajamas. Since then, I’ve become so infatuated with online shopping that except for bicycles (because I let the stores put them together) I do all of my Christmas shopping online.
The best part of online shopping is being able to compare prices at various retail sites. I used to put sites and prices as well as tax and shipping charges in a spread sheet to compare and determine the best bargain. But now I’ve found a much easier way to comparison shop.
Twenga is the ultimate shopping search engine that brings together all the best prices. Currently Twenga covers several European countries: France, Great Britain, Spain and Italy. I’m hoping it comes across the ocean to the United States soon. If I could search these countries plus the US, I can’t imagine ever needing to go elsewhere for my online shopping research.
Naturally, I’ve been checking out computers and tech stuff since I’m a bit of a geek. I have a very nice CRT monitor but I’d love to get an LCD. I’ve waited a while, in hopes prices would fall and they surely have. Twenga is showing almost 500 LCD monitors from 52 stores! Now that makes narrowing down the selection so much easier than hopping from site to site and trying to keep track of what each store offers.
Of course, I like to shop for things other than tech and Twenga has me covered. As I was looking at the site, my Pit Bull, Belle, was sitting at my feet whining just a little. We can’t find her favorite toy, a red Kong. So I checked Twenga for dog toys and sure enough, they listed not only the regular Kong but also the King Kong, which is perfect for larger dogs like my Belle.
Don’t think that I’m just a dog-loving geek, though. I’m still a girly-girl. I love frills and makeup and stuff. In fact, one of my beauty obsessions is mascara. Seriously. I’ve found my holy grail foundation, blush, lipstick and eye shadow. But mascara? Not yet. I know the perfect one is out there but I haven’t found it yet. Oh, but the list I found at Twenga for Mascara is enormous! I could order a new mascara every day for a year!
Now, I know you may think I’m crazy but anytime I find a new shopping site, I check out the search feature by entering my favorite search term. Don’t laugh. I search for the word “Dandelion.” I love dandelions so I’m always on the lookout for some unique item with dandelions on it. Twenga did not disappoint! In fact, I really have to wrap this up because there are so many dandelions items listed that I can’t wait to get started shopping. This is such a surprise considering the lack of dandelion items I’ve come up with using other, better known shopping search engines. Twenga is definitely a step ahead of the competition.
I just hope their listening to me when I plead with them to cover the US, too. This online shopaholic is waiting patiently!
