Incognito

Have you ever been required to give out too much information at a site just to use the free service being offered? And did you think how nice it would be to have a list of fake information to use for just such a situation? Yeah, me too.

And that’s why I love the Fake Name Generator. All you need do is choose your gender, the country for your name and Go! You’ll get a name as well as an address, phone number, email address, mother’s maiden name and date of birth. What more could you need?

I’ve clicked over and over to get different names and I’ve never seen a repeat yet. So yeah, it’s kind of fun to play with, too. Just keep the site handy for the next time you don’t want to give your real info to one of those nosy sites. Oh, and keep a record of the names you use. I’d like to know if anyone else gets repeats since I never have.

That is awesome! I hate giving out information to websites that don’t need it. Thanks for the tip.

Very interesting…”Marisa”!

Actually that’s pretty cool…I was a little anxious when I saw the fake credit card # it gave me, but apparently they use “inactive” prefixes to ensure they aren’t used fraudulently? (Not sure how they know that?)

Not sure how they know that either. I’ve never used the CC or SS#. It’s just good when you’re not quite sure of a site asking you for stuff. ;)

Cute idea. But wouldn’t it be easier to do what the rest of us do when we don’t want to supply personal information and just pound the keyboard and nfienfi nnfiuenf nfciehfue kourti ndjediue?

Cheers!

I like this. I have always hated giving out my real name and phone number and all the other stuff that is required. Before we know it, a DNA sample will be required. Thank you for the info.

Exactly! As if any of those sites really need that information.

Interesting…so long as its nothing where you legally have to give your name, I think that’s great. :-)

Yes, it’s mostly to protect your privacy online.

This is such a great idea. I’m totally going to use this site! I even have a fake number I give out to people when I’m out with my girlfriends. It’s pretty funny. I have it memorized so I can just rattle it off… then, when the guy calls it, it tells him I’m just not interested.. lol. Ya, I have a rough time with confrontation. Oh well. :)

That’s funny! I’ll have to remember that to tell my daughter when she gets older.

yea, I always use fake information, I also have a special email account that I use for web sites as well, that way its not flooding my personal inbox with ads and things.

I think many of us do that with the email address. I didn’t do that back in 96, since spam wasn’t a problem then. I wish I had!

Thanks for the tool! I always include the rejection hotline number as it is, now it looks like I can send the spammer even further away from me!
